Vocal SSH is an Android SSH client with integrated voice control. The app allows you to connect to remote servers via SSH and send commands using your voice, hands-free, without needing to type.

Vocal SSH is designed with data minimization in mind. Here are the categories of data processed:

• SSH connection data: server addresses (host, port), usernames, public and private SSH keys. This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Audio data: the app accesses your device's microphone solely for speech recognition (Speech-to-Text). You can choose between two speech recognition modes:
  • Embedded models (Parakeet, Whisper, Moonshine): processing runs entirely on your device. No audio stream leaves your phone.
  • Android speech recognition (SpeechRecognizer): uses your device's built-in speech recognition service, which may transmit audio data to Google's servers depending on your device configuration.
• Usage data: the app does not collect any analytics, telemetry, or tracking data. No third-party analytics SDKs are integrated.

Vocal SSH gives you the choice of speech recognition engine:

• Embedded models (recommended): you can download speech recognition models (Parakeet, Whisper, Moonshine) that run entirely on your device. In this mode, no audio stream leaves your phone. This is the most privacy-friendly option.
• Android speech recognition: the app can use the built-in SpeechRecognizer service on your device. This service is provided by Google and may transmit audio data to Google's servers for processing. The exact behavior depends on your device configuration (some devices offer offline recognition).

In all cases, transcriptions are sent directly into your SSH session as terminal commands — they are not stored or logged by the app.

All app data (connection profiles, SSH keys, preferences) is stored locally on your device in the app's internal storage, protected by the Android operating system. Vocal SSH does not use any remote servers for storing your data.

Vocal SSH does not share, sell, or transmit any personal data to third parties. The app operates autonomously on your device.

The only network communication performed by the app is the SSH connection you initiate yourself to your own servers.

The app requires the following permissions:

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): required for speech recognition. Used only when you press the microphone button.
• Internet (INTERNET): required to establish SSH connections to your remote servers, and for optional download of speech recognition models.

Private SSH keys are stored in the app's secure internal storage on Android. SSH connections are end-to-end encrypted in accordance with the SSH protocol. No sensitive data is transmitted in plain text.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right of access and portability: since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it at all times.
• Right to erasure: uninstalling the app deletes all associated data.
